SLS were appointed by Greene King on a new Public House development, including the design and detailing for the main building and the external works. The superstructure was generally of traditional load bearing masonry with elements of the building structure supported by isolated steel framing in turn supported off traditional pad and trench fill foundations. The site required ground remediation including gas protection measures, to comply with the recommendations of the site investigation. The tiled and pitched roof structure was formed using traditional timber trussed rafters also supporting hidden plant decks for HVAC plant. SLS provided the designs for all below ground foul and surface water drainage including specific measures to attenuate storm water flows on site to comply with local authority planning conditions. SLS also prepared designs specific to the car parking and hardstanding areas.
